Description

The project involved the complete architectural and plumbing renovation, as well as the furnishing of a 90 sqm apartment in central Rome. Originally the owner’s professional office, it was transformed into a residential unit aimed at increasing its commercial value.

Despite the need to ensure a high standard to target a mid-to-high-end clientele, the client’s budget was limited to ensure the investment remained cost-effective. Therefore, the entire design process—from reorganization of spaces and systems to the selection of materials, finishes, and furnishings—was planned to keep expenses within the predetermined budget (LOW COST APARTMENT)

At the same time, there was a clear commitment to maintaining the building’s energy efficiency standards in accordance with regulatory guidelines. This involved a significant upgrade of the external envelope, including the replacement of window frames and improvements to the thermal insulation of opaque surfaces.

The lack of outdoor spaces required a careful redesign of the interior spaces to create functional service areas, which are essential for the livability of an apartment of this size, but without sacrificing the quality and functionality of the main spaces.

The use of color, employing subtle hues while maintaining stimulating contrasts, significantly enhanced the perception of spaces.

Another well-considered aspect was the lighting. Indirect lighting solutions were adopted, using the shapes of the false ceilings to ensure a high level of environmental comfort, without relying on sophisticated and expensive lighting systems.

For the furnishings, in addition to some tailor-made solutions created by a specialized company, nothing was overlooked the choice of commercial products from a well-known international manufacturer. selecting among these those who, maintaining a unity of language with the project, are optimally contextualized with the place.
